Job Description

Job Description

Human Resources Staffing Manager\n

Home Care / Healthcare Staffing

\n

Olympia, WA / Full-Time / In-Person

\n

ABOVE Home Health is seeking an experienced HR and workforce operations professional who can combine strong human-resources judgment with the urgency and practical problem-solving required in a growing home-care environment.

\n

This is not a purely administrative HR position. The person in this role will help build and maintain a dependable caregiver workforce, move qualified candidates through the hiring process quickly, support employee retention, protect compliance, and work closely with Scheduling and Operations to make sure newly hired staff actually become usable staffing capacity.

\n

We are looking for someone who naturally takes ownership, communicates clearly, follows issues through to completion, and can make sound decisions without needing constant direction.

\n

Key responsibilities include:

\n
    \n
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for caregivers and administrative staff
  • \n
  • Maintain a strong, continuous candidate pipeline
  • \n
  • Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and make hiring recommendations
  • \n
  • Move qualified candidates efficiently through offers, background checks, onboarding, orientation, and work clearance
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready personnel files
  • \n
  • Track credentials, training, background checks, and recurring compliance requirements
  • \n
  • Coordinate closely with Scheduling to communicate new-hire availability, experience, location, travel range, and readiness to work
  • \n
  • Identify especially strong candidates and communicate why they stand out
  • \n
  • Support employee relations, coaching, corrective action, and retention
  • \n
  • Monitor attendance, reliability, communication, and workforce readiness
  • \n
  • Help respond to urgent staffing and employee issues
  • \n
  • Provide clear weekly HR metrics and action plans
  • \n
  • Manage priorities and workload within established business hours
  • \n
  • Escalate concerns appropriately while independently resolving routine HR matters
  • \n
\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\n
    \n
  • 3+ years of HR, recruiting, staffing, or workforce operations experience
  • \n
  • Healthcare, home care, senior care, behavioral health, or high-volume staffing experience strongly preferred
  • \n
  • Strong experience with recruiting and onboarding
  • \n
  • Working knowledge of employee relations and personnel-file compliance
  • \n
  • Excellent judgment and follow-through
  • \n
  • Ability to manage competing priorities without losing urgency
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills by phone, email, text, and in person
  • \n
  • Confidence working directly with caregivers and frontline employees
  • \n
  • Experience with HRIS, scheduling systems, applicant tracking, payroll, or EMR systems
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • \n
  • High attention to detail without becoming stuck in administrative tasks
  • \n
  • SHRM, PHR, or similar HR credential preferred but not required
  • \n
\n

What success looks like:

\n

The right person will not just report back, they identify what happened, determine what information is missing, take the next appropriate action, communicate with the right people, and close the loop.

\n

They will also understand that strong recruiting is not about hiring anyone just to meet a number. The goal is to maintain enough qualified talent that the organization can be selective and build an exceptional care team based on reliability, communication, compliance, work ethic, and client-service standards.

\n

Compensation:

\n

Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications.

\n

Schedule:

\n

Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday, in person in Olympia.

\n

To apply:

\n

Please submit a resume and a short note describing your experience with healthcare staffing, high-volume recruiting, or workforce operations.
